Suggested route and day-by-day choices
An Upper Keys outing
For a short escape, choose Key Largo or Islamorada as your main destination and focus on one waterfront or bookable water activity. Turn back when the day is still enjoyable, rather than treating the Key West mile marker as the measure of success.
A multi-day Keys drive
For Key West, spread the journey across the Upper, Middle and Lower Keys. Reserve overnight stays and place any ferry or seaplane excursion to Dry Tortugas on its own full day.
An Everglades day — Shark Valley
Choose a park-centered visit with time for the tram, cycling or walking as appropriate. The Homestead and Gulf Coast entrances are different approaches and cannot be reached from Shark Valley by driving through the park.

No road reaches Dry Tortugas. Verify park entry, tour reservations, weather and any temporary access restrictions before leaving.
